Melissa Parlour

With over 15 years’ experience within the recruitment industry, Melissa has worked in both agency and in-house roles, specialising in the customer service and retail sectors. She has worked for Matalan for the last 13 years, recruiting for Store Management, Support Hub, and Logistics roles at all levels and in December 2022, became their Early Careers & Apprenticeships Advisor, a hybrid role between the Talent Attraction and Talent Development teams.

Responsible for all Early Careers channels including Traineeships, Work Experience, Apprenticeships, 12-month Industry Placements and Graduates, Melissa has built strong relationships with training providers, colleges and universities and is always looking for new initiatives for Matalan to be part of.

She has full control of the Apprenticeship levy, offering Matalan employees the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge via fully funded qualifications, as well as recruiting new colleagues into the business and gifting levy to small and medium businesses across the UK.
